Really good jewelry store.

I love jewelry.  I don’t really care about a chunky diamond.  I more care about beautiful design, things that are handmade and feel interesting and organic.  When I got married, my husband and I worked with the designer Blanca Monros Gomez to make a gorgeous, rose cut, ethically sourced engagement ring.  When I turned 40, Grace Lee made me the opal ring of my dreams (I am an October Libra FYI).

Anyway, I love browsing jewelry stores and discovering new designers and have spent (before babies) hours walking around Love Adorned ABC and Catbird and Mociun and Scosha and and and and…

When I heard about The Golden Carrot – a store in Hoboken, NJ that carried the above mentioned Blanca Monros Gomez, Grace Lee, and Mociun – along with other indie brands I adore like Satomi, Wwake, Communion by Joy and more – I was in shock.  I had no idea a place like that existed out here.

The store owner, Nicole Corriher, is a local mom who also used to spend wayyyyyyyy too much time in NYC jewelry spots.  Here, she created a lovely store where the display cases feel like vignettes – they tell a little story.  It’s a big magical, a bit transformative.  And the vibe is welcoming – to hang, to ask questions, to try on jewelry – all ready to stack and mix and match.

Anyway, The Golden Carrot is definitely so so good, not just good for here.

This Thursday, they are also having a piercing party, where you buy a stud and you can get a complimentary piercing with expert body piercer, Adrian Castillo (@adriancastillo) – who funny enough pierced my ear at NY Adorned years ago.  He’s the real deal.  Anyway, it’s August 10 from 5-9pm.  So fun.

And here’s some pics of Nicole and the shop.  And get to that piercing party stat!

Ciao, Lauren xx
